Laboratory tests on DropDr are requested by a healthcare professional as part of a consultation. That is deliberate: a test without clinical context produces a number, not an answer, and can cause real harm when misread.
Where is the sample collected?
At a partner laboratory or collection centre, or at home where the laboratory offers home collection in your area. You choose when you schedule the collection.
Who sees my results?
You and the professional who requested the test. Results are stored securely in the app and shared further only where you permit it. Health information is special personal information under POPIA and is treated accordingly.
How long do results take?
It depends entirely on the test. Routine bloods are typically quick; specialised assays and cultures take longer. The laboratory sets the expected turnaround and you are notified when results are ready.
What happens after results arrive?
The requesting professional is notified, reviews them and comes back to you with what they mean and what happens next — which may be a prescription, a referral, further testing or reassurance.
Can I share results with my own doctor?
Yes. Results in your records can be shared with a professional you grant access to, inside the app. You control who can see them.
