Practice on your terms. Be found by the people looking.
DropDr is a marketplace for independent practitioners, not an employer and not a rostering system. You decide when you work, what you charge and which formats you offer. We handle discovery, scheduling and payment.
What DropDr does for your practice
Six practical things, none of which involve telling you how to practise.
Be discovered
Patients search by specialty, language, location, format and price. Your profile is how they find you.
Control your time
Appear online when you are free. Publish appointment slots when you would rather plan.
Practice controlsSet your own fee
The price you publish is the price the patient sees and the fee you receive.
How pricing worksReach beyond your rooms
Consult patients who could not have travelled to you, and offer home visits where you want to.
Care at homeIssue documents in-platform
Digital prescriptions, medical certificates, referrals and laboratory requests.
What follows a consultationGet paid predictably
Payment is taken before the consultation. For home visits, funds are held until delivery is confirmed.
We are the connection, not the practice.
South African law draws clear lines around who may provide healthcare and who may trade in medicine. DropDr is structured to sit firmly on the technology side of those lines — which protects your registration as much as our licence.
- We do not assign patients to you — the patient chooses
- We do not set or cap your consultation fee
- We do not take a commission out of your professional fee
- We do not employ you or direct your clinical decisions
- We do not hold or dispense medicine
- We do not interfere in the patient's choice of pharmacy

What does it cost to join?
Commercial terms and any applicable platform charges are presented during onboarding before a professional agrees to participate.
Do I have to be available at set times?
No. You choose when you appear as available for instant consultations and which appointment slots you publish. DropDr does not roster you and does not assign patients to you.
Who sets my consultation price?
You do. The price you set is what patients see on your profile before they book, and it is what you receive for the consultation.
What registration do I need?
Valid registration with the body that governs your profession — the HPCSA for doctors and many allied professions, SANC for nurses, SAPC for pharmacies. Registration details are submitted and reviewed before your profile is activated.
Can I offer home visits only?
Yes. You choose which formats you offer — online only, home visits only, or both — and the areas you are willing to cover.
How and when am I paid?
Consultation fees settle to you. For home visits, funds are held until the visit is confirmed complete by both sides, which protects you against disputes as much as it protects the patient.
