CareCircle

Helping someone should not mean taking over.

Families already coordinate healthcare — booking for a parent, paying for a sibling, reminding a partner. CareCircle makes that practical inside DropDr, while keeping the patient's consent and privacy where they belong.

Roles

How a circle works

Three roles, each with a defined boundary. Nobody gets access they were not given.

The person receiving care

They hold their own account, give consent, and keep control of their clinical information and decisions.

The supporter

A family member or trusted person who can help arrange care and settle payment within the permissions granted.

The professional

Consults with the patient. Their clinical relationship and obligations are unchanged by who arranged the appointment.

Setting it up

Consent is the first step, not an afterthought.

A circle cannot exist without the patient actively confirming it from their own account.

Invite the person

Send an invitation from your account to join your circle.

02

They confirm it

They accept from their own account using a one-time code sent to their number. Without that, nothing happens.

03

Permissions are set

What the supporter can do — arrange, pay, be notified — is defined and can be changed or withdrawn later.

04

Care is arranged

The supporter can help find a professional and book a consultation.

05

Payment is handled

The supporter settles the consultation or prescription without taking over the clinical relationship.

06

The consultation stays private

The professional consults with the patient. Clinical detail is not exposed to the supporter.

Questions

About CareCircle.

Visit the help centre
Does CareCircle let me see someone's medical records?

No. Helping someone organise care is not the same as reading their file. A supporter can help arrange and pay for care within the permissions the patient grants. Clinical detail stays between the patient and their professional.

How is consent handled?

The person receiving care confirms the link from their own account with a one-time code. Nobody can add themselves to someone else's circle, and consent can be withdrawn.

Can I pay for a family member's consultation?

Yes — that is one of the main reasons CareCircle exists. A sponsor can settle consultations and prescriptions for someone in their circle without taking over their healthcare decisions.

What about elderly parents who struggle with the app?

This is the situation CareCircle is built around. A family member can handle the arranging and the paying while the consultation itself stays between the patient and the professional.

Can I use it from another country?

Yes. Supporting relatives in South Africa from abroad is a common pattern. See diaspora healthcare.

Who has the final say?

The patient. Consent, privacy and clinical decisions rest with the person receiving care and the professional treating them. CareCircle organises support around that, never over it.

Use CareCircle only with proper authority and respect for the patient's choices. Healthcare decisions remain between the patient and their qualified professional.
